NAiMOS to hold editors’ forum on fight against illegal mining
The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat is set to hold an editors’ forum and quarterly press briefing today, March 25, 2026, as part of efforts to intensify public engagement on the fight against illegal mining.
The engagement, which will take place at the ISD Press Centre, is expected to provide updates on the Secretariat’s operations and outline new strategies to combat illegal mining, popularly known as “galamsey.”
The event is being held under the authority of the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, and forms part of the government’s broader commitment to transparency, accountability and stakeholder collaboration in addressing the menace.
Officials say the briefing will also address key public concerns and highlight progress made during the period under review.
The Director of Operations at NAIMOS will lead the session, which will be broadcast across various media platforms nationwide.
