The Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening national security and institutional collaboration during an engagement at the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) General Headquarters Retreat.

Mr. Genfi, who represented the Acting Minister for Defence, Cassiel Ato Forson, described the retreat as a strategic platform for deepening coordination among key stakeholders in the country’s security architecture.

He commended the GAF High Command for organising what he termed an “insightful and forward-looking” forum aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and long-term planning within the armed forces.

The Deputy Minister also expressed appreciation to the Minister for the Interior, the National Security Coordinator and his Deputy, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for their active participation and contributions to the discussions.

According to him, such multi-agency engagements are crucial in promoting cohesion, resilience, and professionalism across Ghana’s security institutions.

Mr. Genfi emphasised that sustained collaboration among the various agencies remains essential in safeguarding Ghana’s territorial integrity and ensuring peace and stability in an increasingly complex global security environment.

The retreat forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ghana Armed Forces to review strategies, strengthen inter-agency cooperation, and align national defence priorities with emerging security challenges.
