Over 600 women celebrated at Mother’s Day event in Gomoa West

More than 600 grassroots women in the Gomoa West Constituency in the Central Region were treated to a special Mother’s Day celebration marked by music, dance, gifts, and expressions of appreciation for their contribution to society and national development.

The colourful event organised by the Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah  brought together women from across the constituency to honour their resilience, sacrifice, and role in sustaining families, communities, and Ghana’s democratic progress.

The celebration was attended by several political and party figures, including former Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North, Hon. Betty Krosby Efua Mensah; Member of Parliament for Agona West, Hon. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey; Central Regional Women’s Organizer, Ms. Faustina Lamptey; her deputy, MahamaBa Nhyira Dadzie; constituency women organizers; and party executives.

Speaking at the event,the Deputy Minister commended women in the constituency for their dedication and commitment to grassroots political mobilisation and community development.

Participants were encouraged to continue strengthening democratic participation and supporting initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of women and families within the constituency.

As part of the celebration, the women received various gifts including fabrics, chocolates, and cash support in appreciation of their efforts and contributions.

Special recognition was also given to the District Chief Executive, Hon. Mohammed Kassim, constituency executives, women organizers, and all individuals who contributed to the successful organisation of the event.

 

The gathering ended with renewed calls for greater support and empowerment for women at the grassroots level to help advance development and strengthen community engagement.
