Wettey and Donkor families thank Ghanaians for support during funeral of two sons
The Wettey and Donkor families have expressed profound gratitude to Ghanaians and the international community for their support during the funeral and burial of their sons, Frank Amoanyi Donkor and Elijah Ofori Donkor.
In a statement issued on March 31, the families acknowledged the outpouring of prayers, solidarity, and assistance received from individuals and organisations across the country.
The families conveyed special appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for his compassion and support from the time of their loss through to the successful organisation of the funeral rites.
They noted that the President’s personal involvement, alongside support from the State, provided comfort during their period of grief.
The families also thanked the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, for his solidarity and participation.
They further expressed gratitude for the approval to hold the final funeral rites at the State House Forecourt, describing it as a gesture that accorded dignity and national recognition to the memory of their sons.
Additional appreciation was extended to the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, as well as government officials, including Ahmed Ibrahim and Haruna Iddrisu, for their support and presence.
The families also recognised the contributions of the Minority Caucus in Parliament, traditional authorities, religious leaders, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers who played various roles in organising the funeral.
They said the collective support had been a significant source of strength as they mourned their loss.
The statement concluded with the families expressing deep appreciation for the kindness shown to them, as they laid their loved ones to rest following what they described as a befitting farewell.
