A/R: Police arrest suspect in viral video threatening High Court judge
The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man in connection with a viral video in which he threatened a High Court judge, Justice Patricia Quansah.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, contained threatening language, abusive remarks, and allegations accusing the judge of criminal conduct, raising serious concerns about the safety of the judiciary and the integrity of the legal system.
Following intelligence gathering over a period of time, officers from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team apprehended the suspect, 49-year-old John Kwabena Owusu Ansah, at his hideout in Antoakrom in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, March 27, 2026.
The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be brought before the court in due course.
Authorities have emphasised their commitment to protecting judicial officers and ensuring that threats against members of the judiciary are treated with utmost seriousness.
