Joint Police-Military operation arrests 191 suspects over Ehi Police Station attack
A joint operation by the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces has led to the arrest of 191 suspects — comprising 190 males and one female — in connection with the recent mob attack on the Ehi Police Station in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region.
The coordinated intelligence-led raid, conducted on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, targeted individuals believed to have participated in the violent disturbances that resulted in the closure of the Ehi Police Station, as well as injuries to residents and police officers, and the tragic death of one person.
According to the Volta Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, Chief Inspector Francis Gomado, the suspects were swiftly arrested and transported to the Volta Regional Police Headquarters in Ho, where they are currently assisting with ongoing investigations.
Chief Inspector Gomado reaffirmed the Police Service’s commitment to maintaining peace, law, and order, warning the public against acts of mob justice and vandalism of government property.
He noted that the attack had disrupted policing operations in the area but assured residents that the Ehi Police Station would be reopened once calm is fully restored.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, Rev. Martin Amenaki, has condemned the attack and appealed to the youth to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
He assured residents of the municipal assembly’s continuous efforts to ensure safety, peace, and lawfulness within the municipality.
The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its call for community cooperation to aid investigations and to help prevent future acts of violence against security personnel and public institutions.
