Bosome Freho: Nana Sefa Basic School to get permanent water supply after years of crisis
Students and staff of Nana Sefa Basic School in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti Region are set to benefit from a permanent solution to a long-standing water crisis that has disrupted academic activities for years.
The school has faced a severe lack of clean drinking water, a situation that often forced pupils to leave campus during school hours to walk long distances to their homes in search of water. This challenge has significantly affected teaching and learning, prompting calls for urgent intervention.
In response, Francis Adjei, a media practitioner and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organiser hopeful for the Bosome Freho Constituency, has partnered with the Rotary Club to provide a sustainable solution.
The team has broken ground for the construction of a potable drinking water facility on the school’s premises.

The project is expected to eliminate the difficulties students face in accessing clean water and enable them to remain in school during instructional hours.
At the ceremony, Mr Adjei indicated that the initiative is intended to address the water challenges confronting the school and to support effective teaching and learning.
The Headmistress of the school, Dolinda Antwi Appiah, expressed relief over the intervention, noting that the lack of water has been a major challenge for both staff and students. She said the project, when completed, would help restore lost instructional time and improve the well-being of the pupils.
Also lending support to the initiative, the Assembly Member for the Denyaso Electoral Area, Victor Osei Bonsu, described the project as a “timely intervention.” He assured stakeholders of his commitment to ensuring proper maintenance of the facility so it remains functional for the long term.
The project is expected to significantly improve conditions at the school and serve as a model for community-driven solutions to infrastructure challenges in underserved areas.
