DE MAYOR FOUNDATION has marked its first anniversary by reaffirming its commitment to education and community development through the donation of educational materials and essential school supplies to selected schools in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region.

The outreach, held on 2 July 2026, benefited pupils and teachers of Dalive–Torsikpota LA Primary School, Agorta JHS, and Nutekpor LA Primary School.

The foundation donated bundles of exercise books and notebooks, mathematical sets, boxes of pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, chalk, and assorted drinks for school activities. The initiative aims to enhance teaching and learning, ease the financial burden on parents, and ensure that pupils have access to the basic learning materials needed to excel academically.

Speaking during the presentation, representatives of the foundation reiterated their belief that every child deserves access to quality educational resources, regardless of their background.

Beyond education, the foundation also announced plans to support the Dalive–Torsikpota community by supplying chippings to improve roads and waterlogged areas left in poor condition following the recent floods. The intervention is expected to improve accessibility, enhance safety, and create a better environment for residents.

Meanwhile, authorities at Agorta JHS appealed to the Foundation for assistance with roofing sheets to replace the school’s leaking roof. According to the school, rainwater regularly seeps into classrooms during downpours, disrupting lessons and creating an unconducive learning environment.

The foundation acknowledged the request and expressed its commitment to exploring partnerships and mobilising resources to help address the challenge.

As it celebrates one year of service, DE MAYOR FOUNDATION expressed appreciation to individuals, corporate organisations, philanthropists, and development partners who have supported its mission over the past year. The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its impact through strategic collaborations aimed at improving the lives of children and communities.

The foundation concluded by emphasising that education is a shared responsibility and that collective efforts can help build stronger schools, empowered communities, and a brighter future for every child.
