E/R: Kwahu West MCE urges BECE candidates to study hard after district mock exams
Tamimu Halidu, Municipal Chief Executive for Kwahu West Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, has encouraged candidates preparing for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to intensify their studies and strive for excellent results.
His remarks followed a district-wide mock examination organised for final-year junior high school students in the municipality.
The mock examination was conducted by the Ghana Education Service in collaboration with the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly to assess the preparedness of candidates ahead of the upcoming national examination.
Addressing the students, Mr. Halidu urged them to take their studies seriously and use the mock examination as an opportunity to identify their academic weaknesses and make the necessary improvements before the final examination.
He emphasised that education remains a key pillar for development and advised the candidates to remain disciplined and focused in order to make their schools, parents and the municipality proud.
According to him, the mock examination forms an important part of the preparation process and should help students strengthen their academic performance ahead of the BECE.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Director of Education, George Yankyera, said the district mock examination is part of ongoing efforts to improve academic outcomes and adequately prepare candidates for the national examination organised by the West African Examinations Council.
He also advised the candidates to remain confident, avoid examination malpractice and work diligently to achieve success in the final examination.
