The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the clearance of three years' worth of Academic Intervention arrears owed to eligible senior high school staff across the country.

In a press release issued on 7 July 2026 and signed by Daniel Fenyi, the Head of Public Relations for the GES, the service confirmed that the disbursements cover eligible teaching and non-teaching staff at Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs). The completed payments clear outstanding balances spanning three full academic periods: 2023/2024, 2024/2025, and 2025/2026.

According to the management statement, the resolution of these long-standing arrears is expected to significantly boost staff morale and motivation, driving a more effective delivery of the ongoing academic intervention programme.

The GES leadership further expressed appreciation to the affected staff members, acknowledging the patience, professional conduct, and understanding they maintained throughout the period they were awaiting the funding release.

Concluding the announcement, the educational body reassured all sector stakeholders of its continuous focus on ensuring high-quality education through the sustainable administration of the academic intervention scheme.
