S/R: Police hunt for robbers who attacked MoMo vendor at Fufulso Junction
The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for a gang of armed robbers who attacked a mobile money vendor at Fufulso Junction, leaving two people dead and two others injured.
According to police, the incident occurred at the busy junction in the Savannah Region when the suspected robbers carried out a violent attack targeting the mobile money operator.
During the robbery, the assailants opened fire, killing two individuals at the scene while two others sustained gunshot injuries.
The injured victims were rushed to a nearby health facility for medical treatment.
Following the incident, security has been significantly intensified in the Fufulso township and surrounding communities as police work to restore calm and prevent further criminal activity.
The police say an intelligence-led operation is currently underway to track down and arrest the suspects responsible for the attack.
Authorities have assured residents that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice and have urged the public to voluntarily provide any information that could assist ongoing investigations.
The police have also encouraged community members to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies as efforts continue to apprehend the robbers
