Agotime-Ziope MP strengthens ties with Muslim community through support and inclusion initiatives
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Agotime-Ziope Constituency, Charles Agbeve, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening unity and supporting the Muslim community through donations and inclusive development efforts.
Speaking during a presentation to the community, the MP emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among all groups within the constituency.

Mr Agbeve noted that although the Muslim community in the area is relatively small, it remains a vital part of the constituency’s social fabric. He praised the community for its cooperation, unity, and strong leadership, describing their relationship with the wider community as harmonious and progressive.
He stated that the gesture of providing items food items during this fasting period is aimed at deepening bonds and demonstrating solidarity.
According to him, such support underscores a shared commitment to stand together in times of need, celebration, and difficulty.
The MP also highlighted the importance of promoting peace and guiding the youth away from social vices. He stressed that fostering unity and providing opportunities for young people are essential steps toward sustainable community development.

Regent of the Muslim community, Lawal Tajudeen, expressed appreciation for the continued engagement and support from the MP. He noted that the open-door policy of Mr Agbeve has made it easier for community leaders to discuss developmental concerns and collaborate on solutions.
As part of future plans, Mr Agbeve revealed his intention to support about 50 women in the Muslim community with financial capital to expand their businesses. He acknowledged that while the community is not entirely isolated or deprived of basic amenities such as water, electricity, and education, there remains a need to empower residents economically.
He further commended the entrepreneurial spirit of the community, citing activities such as livestock rearing, farming, trading, and scrap businesses as key areas for growth. He assured that the assembly continues to include members of the Muslim community in initiatives like the National Apprenticeship Programme to ensure they benefit from development opportunities.
