Security analyst praises IGP Yohuno for transforming police administration
A security analyst has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, for what he describes as a significant transformation in the administration and operations of the Ghana Police Service within a short period.
Speaking in an interview on Accra 100.5 FM's mid-day news on Tuesday, fraud prevention expert and security consultant Richard Kumadoe said the IGP has changed the outlook of policing in the country through improved leadership and stronger operational strategies.
According to him, within about a year of leadership, the police service has seen visible improvements in three key areas: leadership, operational capacity, and coordination among security agencies.
He explained that the enhanced collaboration between the police and other security institutions, including the Bureau of National Investigations, has strengthened crime response efforts across the country.
Mr Kumadoe noted that when crimes are reported, security agencies are now able to mobilise quickly, often responding to incidents within 24 to 48 hours.
He said teams are swiftly deployed to crime scenes to gather intelligence and track down suspects.
According to him, this renewed strategy has helped law enforcement resolve several cases and has improved public confidence in the country’s security system.
“I am pleased with the work the IGP has done so far. His leadership has clearly changed the outlook of the police service and strengthened operations,” Kumadoe stated during the interview
