Tensions flare at Ashaiman main traffic light as traders clash with task force

A tense standoff is unfolding at the Ashaiman main traffic light in the Greater Accra Region, where traders and a municipal task force are locked in a confrontation.
The incident, which began earlier today, has drawn large crowds and slowed traffic in the busy commercial hub.
Eyewitnesses say the dispute stems from the task force’s ongoing enforcement operation aimed at clearing traders from unauthorised trading spots along the road.
Traders, however, argue that the exercise is disrupting their livelihoods and claim they have not been provided with alternative trading locations.
Security personnel are currently on the ground to maintain order, but the atmosphere remains charged as both sides refuse to back down.
