Global Health leaders convene in Nairobi for World Health summit regional meeting

The World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2026 is underway in Nairobi, bringing together over 2,000 global health experts, policymakers, and development partners from more than 50 countries.

The high-level meeting, hosted by President William Ruto at the United Nations Office at Nairobi, is being held under the theme “Reimagining Africa's Health Systems: Innovation, Integration, and Interdependence.”

Participants include African Health Ministers and representatives from major international bodies such as the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, and UNICEF.

Discussions at the summit are focused on addressing key health challenges facing the continent, including pandemic preparedness, the impact of climate change on health systems, digital health innovation, and sustainable health financing.

The meeting also serves as a platform to share ideas, foster collaboration, and develop practical solutions to strengthen healthcare delivery across Africa.

Ghana is among the participating countries, with a delegation led by the Deputy Minister forHealth, Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah  to engage in knowledge exchange and strategic discussions aimed at improving national and regional health outcomes.
