National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia says he has not ruled out contesting the party's presidential primaries but will only make his intentions known at the appropriate time.

Speaking in an interview with JoyNews' Evans Mensah on One-on-One, Asiedu Nketia said he remained open to seeking any position within the party.

"I have never ruled any position out," he said.

He, however, indicated that any decision on whether to seek another term as NDC National Chairman would only be taken after the party's internal elections.

Asked whether his ongoing Thank You Tour was part of a strategy to boost a future presidential bid, Asiedu Nketia dismissed the suggestion.

"I don't need a Thank-You Tour to sell myself," he asserted.

He added that he would declare any presidential ambition "when the time is up."

Chairman Nketia, Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, and Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson are three names that have emerged as possible flagbearer options for the NDC going into the 2028 elections. Meanwhile, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) settled on former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as their flagbearer in January 2026.
