Bawumia must distance himself from NPP governance to rebuild trust — Mussa Dankwah
Policy analyst Mussa Dankwah has urged former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to take a firm stance in holding President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo accountable, while distancing himself from what he describes as governance challenges under the then ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Mr. Dankwah, such a move is critical if Dr. Bawumia hopes to rebuild public confidence and restore trust in leadership ahead of future political engagements.
Speaking on The Citizen Show hosted by Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Accra 100.5 FM, he stressed that the former Vice President must demonstrate independence and accountability in the face of growing public dissatisfaction.
“Nana Addo must understand that Mahamudu Bawumia needs to hold him accountable and distance himself from the mess the New Patriotic Party government created to rebuild public trust,” he stated.
His comments come amid increasing political discourse over governance performance and the future direction of leadership within the NPP.
Analysts say the former Vice President’s ability to redefine his political identity could play a significant role in shaping public perception.
The remarks have since sparked conversation among political observers, with many weighing in on the implications for party unity and electoral prospects.
As debate intensifies, attention remains on how key figures within the party respond to calls for accountability and reform.
