Bono Region records sharp increase in DACF allocations — Minister Reveals
The Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboa, has disclosed a significant increase in allocations from the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the region.
Speaking at the Resetting Ghana Citizens Engagement with President John Dramani Mahama, the Minister revealed that total DACF receipts for the first three quarters of 2024 stood at just over GHS 11 million for all 12 MMDAs in the region.
However, the figure saw a substantial rise in 2025, with allocations for the same period exceeding GHS 122 million.
The Minister described the increase as a major boost for local governance and development, noting that enhanced funding would enable Assemblies to better deliver essential services and implement development projects.
The disclosure highlights improved fiscal flows to local authorities, as the government intensifies efforts to strengthen decentralisation and accelerate development at the grassroots level.
