The founder of the UP Tradition Institute, Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku, has raised concerns over the campaign messaging and political strategy of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2028 general elections.

In remarks addressing the party’s political direction, Dr. Opoku questioned whether the NPP’s current approach was capable of appealing to the conscience and expectations of Ghanaian voters.

According to him, political campaigns must offer practical solutions that address the everyday needs of citizens rather than relying solely on criticisms of the governing administration.

“If we don’t eat stability, are you fighting for power to create instability for Ghanaians to eat?” he questioned, while expressing doubts about the effectiveness of the party’s current messaging strategy.

Dr. Opoku also cautioned the governing administration of President John Dramani Mahama that maintaining stability alone would not be enough to secure public confidence if it is not accompanied by economic growth, job creation, and opportunities for citizens.

He noted that Ghanaians are likely to judge governments based on improvements in livelihoods and economic conditions, warning that failure to deliver meaningful progress could influence voter decisions in the 2028 elections.

The political analyst stressed the need for both major political parties to focus on policies that directly improve the lives of citizens as the country prepares for another electoral cycle.
