GFL Secretary-General urges NDC to strengthen grassroots structures ahead 2028 elections
The Secretary-General of the Ghana Federation of Labour(GFL), Mr Abraham Koomson, has called on the govering National Democratic Congress (NDC) to reinforce its grassroots structures and prioritize the needs of its local branches.
According to Mr. Koomson, the party’s grassroots supporters remain the backbone of its electoral fortunes and must be adequately supported and engaged.
Speaking on Ahotor FM on April 11, he stressed that the NDC must not overlook its base, particularly at a time when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is intensifying efforts to regain political power.
He emphasized the importance of unity, organization, and consistent engagement at the branch level, urging party leadership to provide the necessary logistics and support systems to empower members.
“The strength of any political party lies in its base,” he noted, adding that branches must be actively utilized rather than sidelined.
Mr. Koomson concluded that sustained investment in grassroots mobilization is essential for building a strong and competitive political force.
