New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator, Awal Mohammed has defended his colleague Dennis “Miracles” Aboagye following the freezing of his bank accounts by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

Speaking on Starr FM's morning show, Awal Mohammed rejected claims that Aboagye's wealth was acquired after the NPP assumed office in 2017.

"Miracles is not a small boy; he has a daughter in university," he said.

According to him, Aboagye completed university around 2007 and had been working long before he was appointed a Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

"Miracles did not only start work as an MCE. He was a worker before becoming MCE," he said.

Awal Mohammed also said Aboagye owned private businesses before entering government including a company that produces corned beef.

"He didn't start life when we took over in 2017," he added.

He challenged EOCO to publicly state any wrongdoing if it believed Aboagye had committed an offence.

"Tell the truth if you think he's done anything wrong," he charged.

Awal Mohammed also described EOCO as "a bunch of liars".

His comments come after EOCO froze Aboagye's bank accounts as part of ongoing investigations.
