NDC releases timetable for 2026 constituency, regional, and national executive elections

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially released the roadmap and timetable for its internal elections spanning 2026 to 2030 across constituency, regional, and national levels.

According to a press statement issued on August 5, 2026, by Deputy General Secretary Barbara Serwaa Asamoah on behalf of the General Secretary, the decision was directed by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) during its meeting on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

The party stated that the schedule reaffirms its commitment to conducting transparent, credible, and well-organized internal elections in line with the NDC Constitution and approved Election Guidelines.

The full breakdown of the electoral timeline is as follows:

i. Constituency Executive Elections

- Opening of Nominations: Starts Tuesday, September 15 (7:00 am) and ends Thursday, September 17 (5:00 pm). Applications are to be completed online via forms.ghanandc.com.

- Completion of Forms: Allowed seven (7) days for the endorsement of Form B.

- Filing of Nominations: Wednesday, September 23 to Thursday, September 24. Online submissions close at 5:00 pm on Sept 24; physical forms can be submitted at constituency offices between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm daily.

- Vetting Exercise: Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27 at local constituency offices.

- Appeals Process: Tuesday, September 29 to Thursday, October 1, 2026, heard at regional offices.

- Elections: Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2026 (a one-day exercise at designated venues within each constituency).

ii. Regional Executive Elections

- Opening of Nominations: Starts Tuesday, October 6 (7:00 am) and ends Wednesday, October 7 (5:00 pm) online.

- Completion of Forms: Allowed seven (7) days for Form B endorsement.

- Filing of Nominations: Wednesday, October 14 to Thursday, October 15. Online filing closes at 5:00 pm on Oct 15; physical submissions at regional offices run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.

- Vetting of Aspirants: Friday, October 16 to Saturday, October 17 at regional offices.

- Appeals Process: Monday, October 19 to Tuesday, October 20 at regional offices.

- Regional Youth and Women Conference: Friday, November 13 (one-day event within the region).

- Regional Elections: Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 (one-day event within the region).

iii. National Executive Elections

- Opening of Nominations: Starts Tuesday, October 20 (7:00 am) and ends Wednesday, October 21 (5:00 pm) online.

- Completion of Forms: Allowed fourteen (14) days for Form B endorsement.

- Filing of Nominations: Saturday, November 7 to Monday, November 9. Online filing closes at 5:00 pm on Nov 9; hard copies can be submitted at the national office from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.

- Vetting of Aspirants: Thursday, November 12 to Friday, November 13 at the national office.

- Appeals Process: Sunday, November 15 to Monday, November 16 at the national office.

- National Youth and Women Conference: Saturday, December 12 (venue to be decided).

- National Congress: Saturday, December 19 at the Congress grounds.

The NDC leadership urged all executives, aspirants, and members to study the timeline carefully and strictly adhere to all deadlines to ensure a smooth electoral process ahead of the 2028 General Elections.
