Pan-African advocate and former Ghanaian legislator, Ras Mubara, has praised Togo for officially abolishing visa requirements for citizens of all African countries.

The move makes Togo one of the latest African nations to adopt a full visa-free policy for travellers across the continent, a development advocates say strengthens regional integration and continental unity.

Reacting to the announcement on his Facebook wall, Ras Mubara described the decision as a major victory for the Pan-African agenda and the broader vision of free movement across Africa.

According to him, the development reflects growing momentum toward deeper continental cooperation, trade, and people-to-people connections.

“Togo’s announcement is a big win for our Pan-African agenda. I am proud to see our long-standing push for a visa-free Africa steadily yielding results,” he stated.

With the policy shift, Togo joins countries such as Benin, The Gambia, Rwanda, Kenya and Seychelles in implementing broad visa-free access for African travellers.

Ras Mubara also highlighted recent developments in other countries, including Uganda, which recently announced visa-free access for nationals from 40 African countries, as well as Ghana’s decision to scrap visa fees for Africans who still require entry visas.

He noted that such policies are gradually making the dream of seamless travel across Africa a reality and urged more countries to embrace the vision of continental integration and mobility.
