2026 FIFA WC: Carlos Queiroz begins European tour to engage Black Stars
Following his official unveiling in Accra last week, Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has embarked on a European tour to monitor and engage with Ghanaian players ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Portuguese tactician began his tenure by observing the Black Galaxies in Ghana before traveling to Europe this past Sunday. Queiroz has already held preliminary discussions with team captains Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey.
His itinerary includes meetings with other senior team leaders and scouting as many active Ghanaian players as possible to share his technical philosophy and tournament blueprints.
The tour, supported by members of his backroom staff, aims to assess both veteran squad members and potential new call-ups. Queiroz, who took charge of the team earlier this month, is tasked with leading Ghana to its fifth World Cup appearance.
The Black Stars will compete in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States. They are scheduled to face Panama, England, and Croatia when the tournament kicks off this June.
