The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has completed the first phase of interviews for the recruitment of Regional Scouts as part of efforts to strengthen talent identification and development across the country.

According to the Association, the exercise forms part of a broader strategy to enhance scouting structures within all regional football associations in Ghana.

A total of 41 candidates were shortlisted from applications received across the 10 Regional Football Associations and were interviewed during this phase. The process focused on assessing leadership qualities, technical knowledge and each candidate’s vision for scouting within their respective regions.

The interviews were conducted under the supervision of the GFA’s Head of Talent Identification and Development and Head of Scouts, Papa Nii Lartey, alongside FIFA Talent Coach McLaren Stuart, to ensure alignment with international standards.

The Association indicated that the second phase of the process will determine the final selection of Regional Lead Scouts, who will be responsible for identifying and developing football talent across Ghana’s regions.

The GFA said the initiative is aimed at building a strong scouting network to create opportunities for young footballers and support their progression into the national teams.
