2026 FIFA World Cup: Black Stars off to US to continue preparations at Bryant University
Ghana's Black Stars have left Wales for the United States to continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The team left the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a 1-1 draw with Wales in Cardiff on Tuesday night, a match that marked Carlos Queiroz's first game in charge of the national team.
The Black Stars will be based at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, throughout the tournament. The campus, situated near Boston, will serve as Ghana's training and accommodation base during the World Cup.
The move to the United States signals the next phase of Ghana's preparations as the squad settles into its tournament environment ahead of the competition.
Queiroz and his players are expected to continue training in Rhode Island as they step up preparations for their opening Group L fixture.
Ghana head into the World Cup after drawing with Wales in their final warm-up match. Caleb Yirenkyi scored his first senior international goal before the hosts equalised in stoppage time.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto before taking on England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.
