Ghana’s national women's football team, the Black Queens, have withdrawn from the upcoming three-nation international tournament in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, scheduled for June 1 to June 9.

The competition, which was set to feature hosts Tanzania, Ghana, and Malawi, was intended as part of the team's build-up to the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Following the withdrawal, the Black Queens will instead remain in Accra during the June FIFA international window to continue their training and play local friendly matches.

Concurrently, four players have been added to the senior squad for the June camping programme following a recent home-based screening exercise.

The call-ups include goalkeeper Osman Huzeima (Jonina Football Academy), Diana Amoako (Ampem Darkoa Ladies), and Mavis Owusu (Fomeget GSK, Turkey). Their selection follows a two-day assessment led by Black Queens B head coach Yusif Basigi and monitored by senior national team head coach Kim Lars Björkegren, aimed at identifying local talent capable of strengthening the main squad.

Portugal-based midfielder Louisa Animwaa will also join the team after concluding her season with Valadares Gaia.

The four players will link up with the rest of the squad as camping begins in Accra to continue long-term preparations for the 2026 WAFCON.
