GFA signs sponsorship partnership with TECNO Ghana
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has signed a sponsorship agreement with TECNO Ghana, making the technology company an Official Partner of the Association.
The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony held at the GFA Secretariat in Accra.
As part of the partnership, TECNO Ghana will provide 100 units of its flagship Camon 50 smartphone and 100 performance-tracking devices to support football development and player performance monitoring.
Speaking at the event, TECNO Ghana's National Channel Manager, Ernest Sonkor, said the partnership reflects the company's commitment to using technology to support football development in Ghana.
According to him, the initiative is aimed at equipping players and football administrators with tools that can improve performance and connectivity.
Mr. Sonkor added that the partnership goes beyond sponsorship and represents a shared commitment by both organisations to promote excellence, innovation and football development from the grassroots to the elite level.
On behalf of the GFA, Vice-President Mark Addo welcomed TECNO Ghana as an official partner and thanked the company for supporting the Association's development agenda.
He said the partnership demonstrates growing confidence among corporate brands in Ghana football and the work being undertaken by the GFA.
Mr. Addo noted that the smartphones and performance-tracking devices would support the Association's football development programmes and strengthen efforts to improve performance through technology.
The TECNO delegation included Ernest Sonkor, National Channel Manager; Maxwell Techie, CEO of IMAX Media and Maxbuy; Brand Manager Lolon Luo; Marketing Manager Camille Louis-Leon; and National Retail Manager Simon Xu.
Also present were GFA Executive Council members Samuel Aboabire, Fred Acheampong and Eugene Nobel Noel, as well as Chief Finance Officer Collins Dei, Marketing Director Jamil Maraby, Head of Public Relations and Strategy Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, Business Development Manager Janice Odonkor, and Human Resource Manager Keziah Agyekumwaa Afosa.
The ceremony concluded with the signing of the agreement and an exchange of souvenirs, marking the start of the partnership between the two organisations.
