Black Queens step up preparations for 2026 WAFCON with UAE tournament, Ivory Coast friendly
Ghana’s Black Queens will take on Ivory Coast in an international friendly as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
As part of their build-up, coach Kim Lars Bjokegren’s side will compete in the Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 28 to March 6, 2026.
Ghana will open the tournament against Hong Kong on February 28 at 4 PM, before facing Russia on March 3, at the same time, in what is expected to be a stern physical test.
The Queens will wrap up their campaign with a 9 PM encounter against Tanzania on March 6.
After the UAE competition, the team will travel to Morocco to face Ivory Coast in a final preparatory friendly ahead of the continental showpiece.
The Black Queens have been drawn in Group D for WAFCON, where they will come up against Cameroon, Cape Verde, and Mali.
