Former Black Stars forward David Accam has expressed concern about the team's lack of cohesion as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

His comments come amid discussions about the team's performances despite the presence of several players competing at top European clubs.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Speaking to Graphic Sports, Accam said the Black Stars have talented players but have struggled to function as a unit.

“We have individuals and not a team,” Accam said.

He argued that the side lacks a clear identity and often depends on moments of individual brilliance.

“Every time I watch them [Black Stars], it is difficult to see them play as a team. It is difficult to identify a style of play or a tactical approach. Most of the time, we rely on individual players to produce something special," he added.

The Black Stars are currently in the United States continuing their preparations for the tournament.

Ghana will begin their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field before facing England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. Their final Group L fixture will be against Croatia on June 27.

Carlos Queiroz's side will play Jamaica in a friendly on June 10 as part of their final preparations for the tournament.
