GFA President Kurt Okraku meets DopeNation to discuss entertainment partnership for 2026 World Cup campaign

Ghanaian musical duo DopeNation paid a courtesy call on the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, to discuss a potential collaboration ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The meeting, which took place at the GFA headquarters, focused on leveraging music and entertainment to drive fan engagement, inspire national unity, and support the Black Stars' upcoming campaign in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The award-winning twin brothers, Micheal Boafo (B2) and Tony Boafo (Twist), discussed strategies with the GFA leadership to use their platform to energize the public and increase the visibility of domestic football.

President Simeon-Okraku commended the duo for their career growth and creative impact, specifically highlighting their hit song Kakalika as a major cultural success.

He advised the brothers to maintain their unity and discipline to sustain their achievements, while expressing optimism about the prospective partnership.

“With football and music serving as two of Ghana’s strongest instruments of national identity and pride, there is tremendous value in bringing both sectors together to inspire the nation and project Ghana positively onto the global stage,” President Simeon-Okraku emphasised.

Speaking for the group, Micheal Boafo (B2) thanked the GFA President for the reception and confirmed DopeNation’s commitment to supporting the World Cup mobilization efforts and contributing to the development of local football.

The meeting was attended by DopeNation's management team alongside several GFA officials, including:
