Zijin Golden Ridge donates $100,000 to support Black Stars’ 2026 World Cup campaign
Zijin Golden Ridge has contributed US$100,000 (approximately GHS 1.13 million) to support Ghana’s Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The donation was presented on May 14 to the Black Stars World Cup 2026 Fundraising Committee at the Ministry of Finance as part of efforts to mobilise resources to support the national team’s preparations for the global tournament.
The cheque was received by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem.
The company, which says it is deeply rooted in Ghana and powered by Ghanaian talent, reaffirmed its commitment to national development and sporting excellence through the gesture.
Speaking on behalf of the company, the Vice President for Sustainability and External Relations, Jason Zhang, said the Black Stars represent more than just a football team.
“When the Black Stars step onto the world stage, they carry more than a flag.
They carry the pride of a nation. We are honoured to stand behind them,” he stated.
The contribution is expected to support ongoing fundraising efforts aimed at strengthening the team’s preparation and participation in the 2026 World Cup.
