Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz is expected to announce Ghana’s provisional squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup later this week.

Under FIFA regulations, all 48 participating nations must submit an initial list before finalizing their rosters by June 1.

Queiroz, who took over following Otto Addo’s departure, is managing the team’s final preparations for the tournament hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Ghana is placed in Group L and will navigate the following schedule:

- June 17: Opening match against Panama in Toronto.

- June 23: Second group fixture against England in Boston.

- June 27: Final group match against Croatia in Philadelphia.

To prepare for these fixtures, the Black Stars will play two friendlies: one against Mexico later this month and a final warm-up against Wales on June 2.

This tournament marks Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance, following their participation in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022.

After failing to advance past the group stages in the last two editions, the team is focused on improving upon their historic 2010 quarter-final run.
