Ghana's team sets LA28 paralympic target

Sports News
The team leaving for Korea

Three Ghanaian Para athletes and one official have travelled to South Korea for a specialized training camp aimed at kickstarting preparations for the LA28 Paralympic Games qualification.

This initiative, organized by the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana (NPC-Ghana) in collaboration with the Korean Paralympic Committee, is designed to provide athletes with vital international exposure and training.

The team comprises two Para swimmers, Promise Aheto and Bryan Akoto, and a Para badminton player, Judith Adu.

They were accompanied by a Media and Impact official, Mr. Michael Obeng.

Sponsored entirely by the Korean Paralympic Committee, the camp offers a comprehensive development programme that includes sessions in Para-Badminton, Swimming, and Taekwondo through a specialized sports academy.

In addition to intensive training, the athletes will also have the chance to experience Korean culture and expand their network within the global Paralympic community.

This collaboration is part of an ongoing relationship between the NPC-Ghana and the Korean Paralympic Committee.

In 2022, two Ghanaian athletes and one official benefited from a similar training camp ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

The team is scheduled to return to Ghana on November 15, 2024.
