Ghanaians attending the upcoming World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada are being urged to exhibit good character to promote a positive image of Ghana.

Francis Clottey, Kasoa Chairman of Progressive Sports Supporters Union of Ghana (PROSSU Ghana), made this call after donating jerseys and footballs to Manchester United, a third-division side in Ho, Volta Region.

Mr Clottey emphasised that supporters should avoid actions that would tarnish Ghana's image, echoing President John Dramani Mahama's plea for supporters to return on their visas.

The President had cautioned that Ghana had worked hard to restore its five-year non-immigrant visas and remove itself from the banned list.

PROSSU Ghana executives also stressed the need for good character at the tournament and urged the Ghana Football Association and Sports Ministry to invest in colts and juvenile football to develop quality players.
