Otto Addo to name Black Stars squad ahead of March friendlies against Austria and Germany
Ghana’s Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is set to announce his squad for this month’s international friendlies against Austria and Germany, part of the team’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars will first face Austria on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 5 PM.
Thereafter, the team will travel to Germany for a second friendly against the 2014 World Cup champions on Monday, March 30, in Stuttgart.
Addo and his technical team are expected to field a strong lineup for both fixtures as they fine-tune the squad ahead of the global tournament.
Ghana will also play Mexico in May and conclude their pre-World Cup friendlies against Wales on 2 June.
The Black Stars, preparing for their fifth World Cup appearance, have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. Their campaign begins against Panama on June 17, followed by a clash with England on June 23, and a final group-stage match versus Croatia on June 27.
After early exits in the 2014 and 2022 tournaments, the Black Stars are determined to deliver a more competitive and resilient performance in North America as the tournament is hosted by Mexico, USA and Canada.
