The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams has reaffirmed the government's unwavering support for the Black Queens, urging the team to play with courage and confidence as they prepare for the 2026 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign against Cape Verde.

Ahead of Wednesday's Group C opener, the Sports Minister paid a morale-boosting visit to the Black Queens' final training session in Morocco where he delivered a message of encouragement on behalf of the government, Parliament and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

Addressing the players and technical team, Adams assured them that the entire nation is firmly behind them and believes they have what it takes to make Ghana proud on the continental stage.

"I bring you warm greetings and the unwavering support of the Executive and Parliament. The whole nation is behind you, believing in your talent and your ability to make Ghana proud," he told the team.

The minister urged the players to approach every game with determination, unity and self-belief, reminding them that millions of Ghanaians would be counting on them throughout the tournament.

"When you step onto that pitch, play with courage, play for one another and play for the millions of Ghanaians who believe in you. Leave everything on the field and let your performances speak for the nation," he said.

Adams also challenged the Black Queens to seize the opportunity to inspire the next generation of female footballers and leave a lasting mark on Ghana's football history by producing an outstanding campaign.

He praised both the players and the technical staff for their dedication and hard work during preparations, expressing confidence that their commitment would be rewarded with positive performances at the tournament.

The Black Queens will begin their WAFCON 2026 journey against Cape Verde on Wednesday, July 29, at the Moulay Rachid Stadium, as they set their sights on a strong start in the quest for continental glory.
