GIPC engages UK officials to boost investment partnerships

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Simon Madjie, has hosted officials from the United Kingdom(UK) to explore new avenues for investment and economic collaboration.

The meeting brought together Mark Smithson of the UK Department for Business and Trade and Jo Ann Sackey, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and unlocking opportunities across key sectors.

Discussions centred on expanding cooperation in infrastructure development, fintech, financial services, and transnational education—areas identified as critical to Ghana’s economic growth and transformation agenda.

Participants highlighted Ghana’s increasing attractiveness as an investment destination, supported by its stable business environment and ongoing reforms.

The UK delegation underscored its country’s strengths in road construction, digital finance, and higher education, expressing readiness to partner with Ghana in delivering impactful projects.

Both sides acknowledged that leveraging these capabilities could accelerate development outcomes while creating shared economic benefits.

The engagement concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen collaboration and pursue practical initiatives that will translate discussions into tangible investments.
