The Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Anthony Sarpong, led a delegation of GRA officials on March 18, 2026, to engage the Swiss business community in Ghana during a Swiss Business Lunch dialogue hosted by Simone Giger, Swiss Ambassador to Ghana.

The event was part of GRA’s Sustained Tax Education Programme, which seeks to engage the business community and the public on tax compliance, reforms, and collaborative partnerships.

Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between the GRA and Swiss businesses, promoting voluntary compliance, and fostering transparency in operations. The Commissioner-General highlighted recent reforms, particularly in Value-Added Tax (VAT) administration, designed to create a fairer, more predictable, and efficient business environment.

Swiss companies in Ghana—including global industry leaders and small and medium-sized enterprises—contribute significantly to economic growth, employment creation, and knowledge transfer.

The GRA emphasised the importance of maintaining constructive relationships with international businesses to support legitimate enterprise while safeguarding national revenue.

The dialogue reinforced GRA’s dedication to sustained stakeholder engagement, consistent and fair enforcement, and continuous public education. Mr Sarpong stressed the Authority’s commitment to working collaboratively with all sectors of the business community to close compliance gaps, build mutual trust, and strengthen Ghana’s economy for the benefit of all.
