TOR's operations boosted

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has identified the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) as a key facility for its 24-hour economy pilot programme in the downstream petroleum sector.

The decision forms part of ongoing efforts to operationalise the pilot phase of the 24-Hour Economy initiative within Ghana’s petroleum value chain, aimed at improving efficiency, boosting productivity, and strengthening energy supply systems around the clock.

The programme is expected to enhance operational performance across selected petroleum facilities, improve service delivery, and expand economic activity within the downstream sector.

Speaking at the launch in Accra on Tuesday, the CEO of NPA, Godwin Tamekloe  said the initiative is aligned with broader government plans to modernise key sectors of the economy and promote continuous industrial and commercial activity.

According to him, the pilot phase will allow regulators and stakeholders to test operational models, refine systems, and ensure a safe and sustainable transition as Ghana moves toward a more flexible, 24-hour-driven economic framework.
