The Director of Agribusiness Development at the Presidency, Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, has inspected an abandoned warehouse project at Jema in the Kintampo South District as part of his ongoing working visits to agro-based districts across the country.

Dr. Otokunor was accompanied by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kintampo South during the visit, which aimed at assessing the state of the facility located behind the District Assembly building.

The inspection revealed that the warehouse project, which was intended to serve as a storage hub for agricultural produce and other goods, has been left incomplete for some time.

Officials of the District Assembly used the opportunity to make a strong appeal to government to intervene and ensure that the contractor returns to site to complete the project.

According to the Assembly, completing the warehouse would provide a strategic storage facility to support local farmers, improve post-harvest management, and strengthen the district’s agribusiness value chain.

Dr. Otokunor’s visit forms part of broader efforts by the Presidency to evaluate agricultural infrastructure across the country and identify key areas requiring intervention to boost productivity and support farmers.
