WLGA delegation visits NPA, commends Ghana’s gas sector progress
The Chief Advocacy Officer and Deputy Managing Director of the World Liquid Gas Association(WLGA), Michael Kelly, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, to discuss developments in Ghana’s gas sector.
The visit, which took place on Monday, saw Mr. Kelly commend the NPA’s leadership and Ghana’s strides in regulating the gas industry, describing the country as a model for others in Sub-Saharan Africa.
He particularly lauded the implementation of the Cylinder Recirculation Model, noting its role in improving safety and efficiency within the liquefied petroleum Gas (LPG) distribution system.
Mr. Kelly also extended an invitation to the Authority to participate in the upcoming “Clean Cooking for Life Forum” scheduled to be held in Accra.
In response, Mr. Tameklo reaffirmed the NPA’s commitment to expanding access to LPG across the country, while strengthening safety protocols and regulatory standards within the sector.
He emphasised the importance of strategic partnerships in driving growth and innovation, assuring that Ghana will continue to position itself as a benchmark for effective gas industry management in the region.
