TDC Ghana Ltd has successfully trained its first cohort of National Service Personnel in military discipline, marking a significant step toward building a more structured and value-driven workforce.

The two-week training programme, held at the 1st Battalion of Infantry at Michel Camp, ended with a passing-out ceremony attended by officials from the National Service Authority, the Ghana Armed Forces, and TDC Ghana Ltd.

A total of 40 trainees participated in the programme—the first in the company’s history to undergo such military-style orientation.

Delivering the keynote address, the Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, commended TDC Ghana Ltd for the initiative, describing it as forward-thinking and impactful.

She revealed plans by the Authority to increase TDC’s National Service intake fourfold for the 2026/2027 service year.

She also announced intentions to introduce mandatory military training for all National Service Personnel nationwide by July 2026, aimed at instilling discipline, patriotism, and national responsibility among graduates.

The training programme covered a range of practical skills, including drills, first aid, fire safety, teamwork, communication, and protection of life and property.

It was designed to enhance both the physical readiness and character development of participants.

Managing Director of TDC Ghana Ltd, Courage K. M. Nunekpeku, emphasised the importance of discipline, integrity, and service in national development.

He noted that the initiative aligns with the company’s broader vision to promote professionalism, accountability, and excellence, adding that all future National Service Personnel engaged by the company will undergo similar training.

Mr. Nunekpeku urged the trainees to apply the values acquired in their professional roles, stressing that Ghana’s development depends not only on technical skills but also on the character and commitment of its workforce.
