Bessa Simons explains how he balances MUSIGA presidency with active music career
Bessa Simons, President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), has explained how he remains active in music despite his leadership role in the union.
Speaking to Oyokodehye Kofi on Accra 100.5 FM’s Highlife Time show, Oyokodehye Kofi noted that some former MUSIGA presidents, including Diana Hopeson and Obour, paused their music careers while in office, unlike Bessa Simons who continues to perform.
“What’s helped is the band I have, the Bessa band,” the renowned keyboardist and singer-songwriter said.
“It’s God’s grace,” he repeatedly highlighted.
Bessa Simons added that he continues to perform with his band to promote Highlife music and maintain his personal brand.
