Ghanaian comic actor Akwasi Boadi, widely known as Akrobeto, has opened up about his son’s journey from struggling in school to becoming financially independent through a vocational skill.

In an interview on Royal TV, the veteran Kumawood star explained that his third-born son faced persistent academic challenges and was unable to pass his remedial examinations despite several attempts.

Although the young man had dreams of attending university—motivated by his siblings who were pursuing higher education both in Ghana and abroad—things did not go as planned.

Akrobeto revealed that after three unsuccessful tries at the exams, he made the difficult decision to withdraw his son from the formal school system.

Seeking guidance, he turned to renowned Ghanaian inventor and spiritual leader Apostle Kwadwo Safo, whose advice would prove to be a turning point.

According to Akrobeto, the intervention helped his son rethink his path.

Instead of continuing with academics, he opted to learn a trade and requested support to begin an apprenticeship in mobile phone repairs.

The actor then enrolled him in a training programme at China House in Kumasi, while also providing initial financial support, including a workspace and a weekly allowance to cover basic needs.

Remarkably, within just eight months, his son had gained enough expertise to stand on his own.

Akrobeto shared that the young man eventually asked him to stop the allowance, having become fully capable of earning his own income through phone repairs.
