The International Tourism Business Secretariat of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has held a strategic meeting with the Ghana–New Zealand Chamber of Commerce to discuss ways to strengthen tourism, trade, and investment ties between the two countries.

The meeting brought together Dr Spencer Doku, Head of the International Tourism Business Secretariat, and team member Naa Ashiorkor, alongside the Chamber’s Executive Director Isaac Koumessina and Elijah Akonai-Otoo, Head of Communications and International Relations.

Dr Doku highlighted that the Secretariat, established in November under the Office of the CEO, is tasked with attracting investment and forging international partnerships to drive growth in Ghana’s tourism sector.

Discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration, including tourism fairs, workshops, cultural exchanges, capacity-building programs, and investment promotion initiatives.

Both institutions also stressed the importance of involving Ghana’s private tourism sector to ensure credible and impactful partnerships.

The engagement marks a significant step in Ghana’s efforts to expand international tourism networks and attract foreign investment into the country’s growing tourism industry.
