Founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has strongly criticized the organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) over what he describes as poor planning regarding the venue for the upcoming 27th edition of the event.

Speaking on the issue during an appearance on United Showbiz on UTV, Kumchacha expressed disappointment that an awards scheme which has been running for more than two decades is still facing challenges in securing a suitable venue.

He described the situation as a clear sign of weak organisation and poor preparation, arguing that venue arrangements should be one of the earliest and most important aspects of planning such a major event, rather than a last-minute concern.

According to him, the TGMA organisers should always have contingency plans in place to avoid disruptions.

He suggested that at least two alternative venues should be secured in advance to ensure smooth execution of the event if any unexpected issues arise.

“At least two alternative venues should be secured to avoid disruptions.

Even prophets plan ahead when organising crusades, so how much more an award scheme of this magnitude?” he said.

Kumchacha maintained that with the TGMA’s long history in Ghana’s entertainment industry, such logistical challenges should not still be occurring, especially for one of the country’s biggest music award events.
