You’ll be frustrated if you’re not truly called” — Carl Clottey advises
Gospel musician Carl Clottey has cautioned aspiring gospel artists against venturing into the ministry without a genuine divine calling, warning that doing so can lead to frustration.
Speaking during an interview on No.1 Gospel Showbiz on No.1 FM, hosted by Taller Dee, Clottey emphasised that gospel music goes beyond talent and should be rooted in purpose and spiritual direction.
According to him, many individuals enter gospel music for the wrong reasons, only to become discouraged when things do not go as expected.
“If you’re not truly called into gospel music, you will be frustrated,” he stated.
Clottey explained that when God genuinely calls a person into ministry, He provides the necessary tools, guidance, and grace needed to succeed.
He noted that although the journey may not always appear smooth or immediately rewarding, faith remains a key requirement.
He further encouraged gospel musicians to trust in God’s process, even in moments when resources or opportunities seem limited.
“When God sends you, He equips you and gives you everything you need to reach your destination. Sometimes it may look like things are not in place yet, but you still have to walk the path in faith,” he added.
