A/R: Otokunor tours Kantanka Farm ahead of youth agriculture estate project
The Director of Agribusiness Development at the Presidency, Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, has visited a major agricultural site at Agogo as part of preparations for a proposed Youth Agriculture Estate Project.
The visit took him to a farm operated by Kantanka Farms, facilitated through its subsidiary Nuanhyi Ghana Limited.
Speaking during the visit, Dr Otokunor said the engagement forms part of efforts to establish a strategic partnership aimed at expanding agribusiness opportunities for young people and women while creating both direct and indirect employment.
According to him, the project is expected to boost youth participation in agriculture and contribute to broader national efforts to modernise the sector and enhance food production.
He explianed that the Agogo-based facility, which spans nearly 3,000 acres of irrigated land, has the capacity to produce up to 30,000 metric tonnes of tomatoes per planting cycle, positioning it as a key asset for large-scale agricultural development.
