Ayariga inspects Kejetia Phase II, promises action on delays

The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, has inspected the Phase II project at the Kejetia Market in Kumasi.

He was accompanied by the Kumasi Mayor, Richard Kwasi Ofori Boadi Agyemang, alias King Zuba.

The inspection formed part of Mr Ayariga’s first working visit to Kumasi since he was sworn into office on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Mr Ayariga visited the project site on Monday, August 31, where he also engaged relevant stakeholders on the progress of the project.

The discussions focused on the challenges affecting its completion and measures needed to move the project forward.

“During the visit, I inspected the project site and engaged with relevant stakeholders on the progress of the project, the challenges affecting its completion, and the measures required to move the project forward,” he remarked.

Mr Ayariga described the project as “an important development for the Kumasi Metropolis.”

He pledged to work with the relevant authorities and stakeholders to address the challenges and ensure its successful completion.
